Multiplayer Programmer (m/f) Full-time, on-site
Limbic Entertainment is looking for a talented and experienced Multiplayer Programmer (m/f) for an unannounced Unreal Engine 4 project.
As our Multiplayer Programmer (m/f) you need a great passion for online and multiplayer gaming. You will have already worked on professional projects in the gaming industry. One of the responsibilities of this role is implementing multiplayer-focused gameplay functionalities and tools. Evaluating and integrating new tools and maintaining the production code by applying updates to the networking middleware will also be your responsibility.
Your tasks will include:• Implementing network-focused functionalities (P2P and server-client model)
• Improving game performance on the network and server side
• Becoming familiar with big code bases and maintaining third-party code
• Creating and estimating tasks and user stories
• Maintaining the product with technical support and bug fixes
• Evaluating new technologies and plugins
Requirements:• Two to three years’ experience in game development, preferably PC/console and online games
• Excellent C++ skills and well acquainted with Visual Studio
• Experience in network topologies and online gaming constraints
• Knowledge of working with the network layer from Unreal is a plus
• Experienced in development environments, standards and technologies such as OOP, Design Patterns, Test Driven Development, UML, etc.
• Familiarity with code and data optimizing to improve network/server performance and memory usage
• Knowledge of unit tests and profiler tools
• High affinity for games, the internet and multimedia
• Fluent in English
• EU citizenship or a valid working permit for Germany
