After seeing Alex Senechal's recent work I decided to give some 3D concept design a try. So this project is going to be highpoly, renders only, no game res stuff.
I'm designing a .45 submachine gun from the bullet outwards, I have a basic sketch of a silhouette but otherwise I'm making it up in 3D.
1) overall silhouette... i expect much of this will change
2) older shot of barrel and mag
3) parts overlaid on ref

It's not in your concept but a suppressor would be an obvious choice for .45. You've probably already seen stuff like the rheinmetall-steyr RS-556, that kind of furniture with very sharp, straight lines could be good inspiration for this.

differentiating this from extant weapons will be the fun part
