Hi everyone,
I am new to 3ds Max, and I am having issues at the very end of a helmet model with the symmetry modifier. I somehow made an unwanted setting adjustment midway through modeling to the model "bounding box" (??? not sure on the terminology) that is affecting the symmetry axis point.
How do I reset this setting so that the "bounding box" is set up correctly?
(I have been trying to research this, but I don't think I am searching for the correct terminology...)
Here is what I am talking about above. The model is in front ortho view, but the box axis is rotated off on the xyz axis.
Thanks for the help in advance!

The when the bounding box is out of place, this is because the object is rotated, even though the actual elements seem to be correctly in place.
What you want to do, is reset the X-Form:
Select the Object, and click onto the "Hammer"-icon in the Rollup-Bar to open up the Utilities Panel. Then, click "Reset X-Form", and then, "Reset selected".

This is not an undoable operation. So maybe you save before you go ahead and perform this operation. When I edit the Vertex Normals of my mesh, resetting the xform oftentimes destroys them completely, or if an object is linked to it. So just save, try it out, and when nothing bad happened, continue modeling!
