I made the shishkebab before and after having some more practice i'm making the ripper I'm more an organics-oriented person so mechanical/hard surface things are a challenge. That being said, i have no idea what i am doing and i welcome critiques or suggestions. Seriously, i won't take it personally.
Solid start on this. It might just be the perspective, but it looks like the sillhouette is off a bit in the first image, especially where first chain guard is. Keep it up!
Progress so far. Been trying to figure out welds. Trying to do them super coarse, chunky, and just all around poorly done by an untrained welder. Not pleased with it at this stage.
I believe the smaller I guess drive chain, the small oval one, would be more akin to bicycle chain in looks. At least that makes sense from a functional standpoint, in which case I would also model in those chain links to push the piece an extra step.

Huh? Sorry, I know absolutely nothing about mechanical stuff. Can you show me what you mean?
Here is what I was referencing. Bike Chain Its a similar style of chain to that of the saw chain itself just without the teeth. The portion I was referencing was the smaller chain that is near the handle just to be specific. Right now it looks as if you've modeled out cylinders that would go around the those gears instead of the bike chain which I referenced.

Ah yeah. Looked like the in game model used two different chain links. I thought there was a functional reason for that or something lol
Yooo! I realized i never posted an update here x__X got it baked and textured. Dylan gave some crazy good feedback about mixing up the colors a bit more. Trying to find a cool way to build up the rust a bit more noticeably. This is the first project i really used substance painter on and omg it's an amazing program.

Did the welds, got all the pieces slapped together.

Hit my time limit for highpoly work
