Modelling up one of the unused Bolt Rifle concepts from Doom! In the early high poly stage at the moment.

Worked more on the high poly, most everything is done except a few parts towards the front of the rifle and some secondary details


I've never held an assault rifle before so if anyone out there has, let me know if things are looking a bit too thin.

Rounded out the grip areas so it fits the hand a bit more comfortably. Started to design the forward sights, while tweaking minor areas of the rest of the gun

High poly is pretty much done at this stage.

One thing, if you had to start over, I'd say is that there is probably much more subtly of form in the original, where yours is quite blocky.  For example where your hand grip is, the entire thing is very blocky and wide. I think that you could put more thought into how the parts of the gun connect and would be constructed. Keep it up! I like the silhouette from the FPS veiw.
