Does it need to be modeled? Animated? Realtime? You could simply do it in texture, or instance a single shape around, I'm sure max has an array scatterer or two.
If you mean making it you just have to create one of the pieces and clone it with the array tools (Tools menu -> Array), and then attach the clones into one object.
throttlekitty yeah it needs to be modeled, thanks TeriyakiStyle and Ruflse the machine does flatten and ended welded, abit complex, i already got the top looking like how you did it , but its the bottom when you flip it looks wrong, somehow in the flattening process it changes somethings
