Okay guys
Can someone explain what am I doing wrong
I have the simplest alpha imported in zBrush

Used the grabDoc on it

Here it is without tweaking

And after some time spent tweaking Alpha settings here is the result that I'm happy with

Now, all that i need is to export it to use constantly without spending time tweaking it over and over again
This is my second day trying to create a simple alpha pack just for myself and it's driving me mad. At first I was trying to export alpha just after tweaking which gave no result cause zBrush imported the default grabDocced alpha without capturing the tweaks
After some research what I found was this button

I thought wow, that's great, this is exactly what I needed
but, nevetheless, here's the exported alpha

It is simply the same that it was in the beginning and i have to do all the tweaks again
And it's not like I can create custom brush or anything, it doen't have to do anything with the brush setting - just the alpha settings that reset every time you load zBrush.
What am I doing wrong, guys? I never thought that making a custom alpha could be that hard and I've made a post yesterday, but noone seems to reply, I thought maybe I wasn't clear enought

Why not just save it out as a brush once you have all your alpha properties setup?
@codyaq2 as far as I'm concerned the midValue will Reset
@TeriyakiStyle tried it out with this one
cropped it like that
and the result is still ugh
With this one, I can't eve fix it with midvalue
I also tried just baking it on a simple plane and using AO as an alpha - didnt really work that well, a lot of artefacts even though I set rays count to something like 2k which resulted in 8 mins baking
Then all I did was to invert it in photoshop - and that was pretty much all.
But the behaviour of midvalue on more complex alphas still a mystery to me
The outsides is still half white/half black and i cant do anything about it
logically i should cut out everything before the fist black ring starts
Can photoshop cut out that middle tone with a fade before the ring?
