Ball Bounce - Going Back to Basics

Working on a break down for creating a ball bounce animation.  Nothing fancy.  Below is my block out.  Any and all feedback is welcome!

Hey man,

It all looks good until it hits the left wall. It feels like the ball starts slowing down and then bounces off the wall really fast. It looks a little unnatural and the velocity seems to come from nowhere.

Other than that its looking good!

There we go. So, I drew a line down the middle of the ball on each bonuce and the apex of each bounce. The first couple bounces seem like the apex is not in the middle between each bounce. So the ball is travelling a further distance on the up, and a shorter difference on the down. I'm under the impression that once an object leaves the ground, the forward velocity doesnt change until it makes contact again, so the apex should be in the center of each bounce.  Given, this is just a block out, so maybe its just the weird splining going on, or a different style than im used to, but ya. thats my only note right now. Adam has the other one covered.

Alright I've turned off stepped mode in this version:

There is still some clean up I need to hit up in some of the slow-ins at the apex of the bounce arcs.  And I think I'm going to push the ball forward overall so I can get nice contact and bounce back with the wall.

Good! I think that in the first bounces the ball is being pushed with an external force while going down. It seems that not only the gravity was pulling the ball to the floor. It will be easy to spot the acceleration in the graph editor

Just wanted to say, thanks so much for doing this practice! I'm actually taking animation classes right now. And bouncing ball is one of the assignments. And studying and understanding from your own practice is an HUGE help!
