A program for making good presentation pdf's?

I have to make a presentation document in pdf format for an application to a school, it needs to have good visuals etc.. Problem i am having is i can't find a tool to make one of these that is free. I heard inDesign is good but i can't come up with anything else appart from that.

Do any of you know a tool that could get this job done ?

create images and then use a tool to merge them into a single PDF. For text heavy documents that need good design I usually turn to Office's Publisher - it's like Word with decent layout abilities.

LibreOffice ? You can blend text with graphics and export stuff as PDF inside Writer.

Google Docs is free, and you can save as nice PDFs.
