Maya 2017 and 2016 wont open up file, fatal error and then crashes. Need help.

I really have no idea why or how it happened. Both files where working before perfectly fine, It seems it may have been that the day I had saved them was the same day and something was off to cause these non-related Maya projects to both become like this. If needed be I can post the files, I know nothing of mel, python or any coding what so ever. Its an mb file not an ma file so I cant go into a text file.

When maya "properly" crashes, it creates a .ma file in your system temp folder, does it get that far?

You may be able to salvage some of the file by importing it into fresh scene.

No it does not, its only doing this to a few files that all happened to be saved on the same day. All other files are fine, but those dont save to a temp.

I have tried that but it still crashes on me,

Is the file very big? I could hit it with a stick (or a hex editor) and maybe knock out enough garbage to get the files to load.

Oh my goodness, your amazing, But alas the file is quite large. Ive jut reverted to an older file (i didnt check this thread quick enough) thank you for the help though
