when I export the hi res model (obj) from mudbox and import it in 3dsmax
for baking, I get waves in normal map generated from render to texture.
what might be wrong ? is there something in import settings or
something else ?
I dont't have any problem when the hi res is created in 3dsmax itself, but still i want to know, and I feel that I should not get the problem I am facing.

Waves in your normalmap are caused by a mismatch of your high and lowpoly geometry.
