Hello potential applicants!

Retroviral Interactive (RVI for short,) is an Indie start-up company looking for modelers who focus on gritty, but photo-realistic art (save concept art as shown above). We use the Unreal Engine 4 platform as the game engine, and are working on a user generated content, sandbox style MMO in a post-apocalyptic setting. We have set aside 2 years of time specifically for planning the look, feel, lore, and style of the game before starting on active development, so a lot of elements and aesthetics have been planned out.

What We Need:

  1. An Environment artist for blockouts of sets, props, foliage.
  2. A Character Artist familiar with character creation.
  3. Concept Artist with a nack for dark and gritty art.
The environment artist needs to be able to:
  1. Work with management and be able to communicate.
  2. Be able to work both with and without concept art (we will provide concepts for unique items, or outline exactly what we want.)
  3. Be able to communicate ideas if they think they can improve upon a provided concept before implementation.
  4. Be able to work at a minimum of 20 hours a week.
The character artist needs to be able to:
  1. Communicate and work with management and concept artists.
  2. Be able to communicate ideas and concerns regarding the assets they create.
  3. Be able to work at a minimum of 20 hours a week.
  4. Be able to Rig (animating would be a very big plus.)
  5. Be able to work on either creatures or characters
  6. Be familair with and able to make models and morphs for character creation.
The concept artist needs to be able to:
  1. Be able to communicate with management often and effectively.
  2. Be able to be flexible with ideas.
  3. Be able to communicate with 3d artists about concepts.

What we offer:

  1. Hourly or asset-by-asset rates of pay (to be discussed in private.)
  2. A say in the design and aesthetics of the game given a sufficient amount of time working with us.
  3. An opportunity to expand your skills in different fields while getting paid (to be discussed in private.)
  4. An opportunity to invest in the company (to be discussed in private, we still pay hourly or by asset  )
  5. An opportunity for those new to the industry to get their feet wet.
