Hey, freelance guys! I wonder, which software do you use for tracking what you earn, what have been paid already, and what not? Or maybe it's just excel table?
just a screen full of virtual post-it notes here. although it sounds like a nice problem to have if you have so many gigs that you lose track of your invoices.
I use Google Sheets, but it's not very automated. I just don't want to spend time finding an alternative. It works fine for me, as long as I'm diligent.
I just use libre office and that does the trick. Set up a simple table for expenses and income, then just fill in a new row each time you have an in or an out invoice. When it comes time for taxes i just export a .pdf and send it to my accountant and its a done deal!
recently i got to using trello for that at work i set tables for everything : new clients - WIP - finished paid or not ... etc after each month if paid gets archived its super slick and easy plus all the team gets to use it . as well as my boss who can keep track from anywhere anytime instead of the old excel table printed on paper

I usually keep a daily log of what I worked on in a day, then weekly transfer to google sheet
