ZBrush beginner question - very blurry, unfocused model.

I'm using the ZBrush trial and learning how to use it, and somehow wound up with a really blurry model. I can't see any detail, and it's almost impossible to do any finer sculpting like this.  The image appears very unfocused. I'm at actual, so it's not the zoom. Is there a way to fix this?

Are You using multiple subdivision levels? Maybe try using dyntopo only. Second thing - It seems that You are using
only standard brush. Try dam standard with alt pressed to sharpen edges, maybe clay buildup.  Here's photo

It looks like you hit zremesher or something.  To get sharp detail you have to sculpt with a mesh that has enough polys to support that detail. Usually you would start to define the sculpt at a low poly level then increase the subdivision level to sharpen the sculpt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSYH9NYFoes

I'm not sure but it sounds to me you might have dynamic sdiv on go to geometry and check if dynamic subdiv is on.
