Cinematic / Promo Artist
Role Overview:
Supersolid has an opening in its central London studio for a
Cinematic / Promo Artist to work alongside our internal development team
across multiple mobile games projects.
We are looking for a highly capable video editor who can capture game
footage and edit video game trailers to the highest standard. The main
focus will be on the creation of marketing materials to support our
games. Primarily this includes cinematic trailers that introduce our
games, their features and/or their content. Occasionally (with the
support of our marketing artists) it will include creating screenshots,
feature artwork, interactive advertising and more. You should be
confident in the creation, editing and delivery of video content (and
ideally also static artwork) to the highest quality.
The ability to take direction, and work with other members of the
team is important; but the applicant must also have the ability to work
independently, self-direct and take ownership of a project where
necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Editing high-end marketing materials in both a supervised and unsupervised capacity.
- Work closely with the 2d & 3d art team in the production promo artwork/videos.
- Collaborate productively, communicating ideas and issues clearly across disciplines.
- Be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Keep abreast of the latest industry art production techniques.
- Mentor & assist members of the team.
- Assist with the scheduling & tracking of work.
- Liaise & work closely with other departments.
Requirements:
- Editing skills in After Effects / Premiere.
- Excellent artistic ability and Photoshop experience.
- Understanding of animation, timing, staging and storytelling techniques.
- Clear understanding of film language, cinematography, demonstrating strong composition, continuity and camera angle choices.
- An avid interest in all types of art & graphic design, with an extensive knowledge of colour theory & composition.
- A professional, pro-active & collaborative work attitude, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Game development experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Passion for games & mobile gaming.
- A “raise the bar” attitude.
Additional Skills:
- Strong creative and communication skills.
- Expertise in developing, defining, and documenting production workflow & processes.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Knowledge or experience of developing for mobile platforms.
- A reel that demonstrates an ability to make materials of varying styles.
