Hello!I'm a 3rd year student in a Computer Art's course in Scotland.
I'm comfortable in Maya and have started to work a lot in game engines (unity/UE)
After watching some showreels I got inspired to look into
Game FX(especially
Cheng Gang's reel:)
https://youtu.be/PcTs-ssSlWoand with more research I seem to just get more questions.
Which software / plug-ins are worth it / necessary to have / learn? Or are Industry required?(Houdini; PopcornFX; Shader Forge)
Can you get by as a Game FX artist with minimal or no coding knowledge? Also would appreciate any sources where I could find more complex FX tutorials
(preferably for unity)
Thank you!
