Disclaimer: Before this thread, Ive made roughly 5 or 6 sculptures. All were done about 10 years ago, so I`m going to consider this the start.
My first sculpt. The Sleeping Baby Dragon. January 21, 2017.
Started I've blocked it out. Details to come!
A bit of detailing. Scales are hard, especially when they are small. I also used too much alcohol, so it got a little muddy, as evident on, well, all the scales.
Really cool! You might want to consider making the scales as individual pieces, and layering them on. Yeah, it takes more time, but you get high quality and lovely overlapping.
100%! I watched a few different tutorials for making scales. I tried one method for this guy. The next one I do will be much larger than this one, so it will be easier for me to do the other methods and see which one i like best. Really though, I'm going to be bad at all of the methods to start. Practice practice practice!
