Hi everyone, I'd like to share a piece that I recently finished. I did it to practice pretty much everything (faces, skin, hair, pbr, etc.) I would definitely approach the hair in a cleaner/more efficient way next time as I learned that it can get pretty nuts tweaking and adding cards. But I learned a great deal and am ready for something new haha. Thanks for looking. I used 3 4k maps - head, hair, clothes. Toolbag3, Maya, Zbrush, 3DCoat, Substance Painter, Photoshop.

Wondering how did you get to this face? I mean, it's forms looks very unique to me. Just references or was it your own choices during the process that led to these forms?
@TeriyakiStyle - agreed!
at least not anything that would work in a modern console or pc title.
Although the specs are getting really high lately. I'd guess if the face was a little more optimized
and something was done about the hair it'd work.
@Tomiajayi: You are mistaken. Drake from uncharted 4 (ps4) has a much higher polycount:
@Nikolas3D - Thanks!
@pmiller001, @Denzil_forde, @artofmars - Thanks guys! I basically used Tom Parker's method by just drawing out the cards in ZBrush, and I used fibermesh for the texture maps. In hindsight, it might have been a good idea to have some sort of shell/cap as I ended up going nuts on adding cards to get a sense of volume. Definitely a lot of duplicating and tweaking in Maya.
@Mateus - Thank you! I found an interesting face of a model in which I used as my main reference: http://avantproduction.ru/models/anya-podolko/
@adrxzero - Thanks a lot man!
@MDyermaker - Thanks, I am glad you dig the eyes
@Tomiajayi - I took liberties in modeling out certain things like the zipper pieces and chain, still keeping them as low as possible so that it would make sense in a game engine of today's standards. The hair cards is where I may have went a bit overboard, and I could have optimized in areas. But for a portfolio piece and to take a break from worrying so much about specs I decided to do whatevs and try to make a nice 'folio piece.
@brurpo - Thanks man!
@Alemja - Thank you Alex!
Also Check out the meshes that they have in The Order too. (would have linked something but can't manage to find the source.)
@erroldynamic she look absolutely gorgeous.
If anything, maybe you have the Subsurface scattering turned down too much. I mean she's great so take this with a grain of salt, but I like a fleshy feel. Nice work.
