I recently took Sam Nielson's lighting for story and concept class (really great class!), this was one of the homework pieces I made. hope you like.

If I had one critique it would be that the blast coming from the barrel of the gun doesn't quite line up with the direction that the barrel is aiming. It seems to curve to the left a bit.
Otherwise, keep up the great work!
