Hey!
First time posting. I hadn't used Zbrush since college (which was a few years back), and I wanted to jump back into it so I decided to reintroduce myself via a little project based around Jabba the Hutt (as he appeared in the original trilogy). My end goal is to make a fully rigged game-ready model, along with his pedestal and possibly some other details from his throne room.
The screenshots below are taken from Maya's viewport 2.0. with the reduced model, which comes in at around 37,000 tris (minus his pedestal and other props. I'm still working on his gloss map to make the slime coming out of his nose and mouth pop, and will probably revisit certain details on him once I finish up the pedestal since my Zbrush skills are a bit better now than when I started.
Appreciate any and all feedback.
Thanks!
Not a lot of reference for Jabba's back, so I kind of just played jazz.
I managed to find some decent images of the actual puppet's eyes dismantled, so I was able to get the model pretty close.

Yup. I built a very low-poly base mesh to start from for basic form, and then did the sculpting in Zbrush. Exported out a mid-range version of the sculpt that landed in the tri count I was aiming for, and laid out the UVs for an optimized bake in xNormal. Now I'm doing the texture painting & gloss map in 3D-Coat.
sry i just wanted to say that, like the work i wish you went realistic with it, if i had to say anything work on the realistic aspect of him and lighting and you should have a nice piece here.
Thanks! Yeah, I plan to keep working on him, and I think the gloss / roughness map will hopefully make him a bit more realistic. And yeah, plan to fix the lighting as well.
