Automaton is seeking a 2D/UI Artist to join our team who will be a part of the driving force that plans to smash the games industry in 2017. We are looking for an artist with a passion for their craft to join our growing team to bring our designs to life. You will have responsibility for pushing our art to the next level through producing high quality game interfaces, icons, and marketing material which will tie together and bring a polished look to our products. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, create, and polish AAA-level game interfaces.
  • Apply and maintain a consistent art style throughout a project.
  • Be proactive in seeking feedback and pushing yourself creatively.
  • Work closely with the technical team to implement your creations into our games and websites.
  • Give and receive constructive and creative feedback across art disciplines.
  • Recognise areas of opportunity and help others create AAA-standard work.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: you either developed your graphic design skills and strong portfolio through on-the-job/hobbyist experience, or through your recently obtained degree.
  • Expert level experience with Industry standard tools (such as Adobe Photoshop).
  • Wire-framing experience.
  • Ability to digitally render and paint all types of materials and surfaces.
  • A strong understanding of UI, UX, and usability principals.
  • Your ability to multi-task and prioritize work appropriately demonstrates your efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • You are a gamer who is passionate about video games, and aspire to create games that meet your own high expectations that you will enjoy to play.
  • Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Game industry experience preferred but not necessary, however skills and experience of delivery throughout all areas of the development cycle is a huge plus.
  • Experience with ActionScript.
  • Experience working with CryEngine.
  • Experience working in an agile environment and the ability to grasp new programs and systems quickly.
