I remember coming here on new year's eve and during holidays; I was quite surprised tosee that wasn't even a thread about goals or aspirations for 2017...
Well Happy New Year peeps!
Have you guys achieved what you wanted to do for 2016 ? Personally I had tasked myself with one simple thing to do(start traditional animation) and I haven't done one inch of it hahah...same old same old...
Personally i don't check the general a lot anymore, There's way too much post being created with so little content in them, it's like a FAQ but every question has it's own thread. Most of them are repetitive stuff you can google or even search on older thread to have your answer. Because of those, the more "general" happy new years, game/movie discussion, etc are just being drown and get harder to find.
It wasn't about me not feeling the love, more curiosity really lotet, I didn't actually see thread either. Blond , yeah 2016 was really shit workwise, though 2017 has started quite well as I am in to a new contract which is cool
BTW Eric this is actually my cat when we lived in London
Hmm maybe we need a dumping ground for all those. Maybe a general Edu/Career section.
Don't. Unfortunately, while it may seem like a good idea,I can guarantee you no one is going to check there and reply to people asking questions.
Rarely do people go on a forum with the intention ''Hey, let's see if I can reply to some random newbie fellow today''! People post questions here on the industry and general 3D because it's still the most popular forum on here...

I've seen two unrelated sources suggest the same method on goal-making: think backwards on what you have to do.
You want to do [something]. So start thinking at [something], and then think back what you need to do in order to get there. You'll list a bunch of steps and these steps become your actual goals, not [something], although you will reach [something] by the end of it.
So thinking of traditional animation: - you want to do traditional animation; - you need to draw well, have a good perception of anatomy and space; - you need to practice figure drawing.
Happy holidays guys! 2016 has been a blast for me. Created my company with some friends and now we are releasing a game for PS4. It grew a lot and even if I didn't spent much doing art as I did years before I learned lots of things about the industry and met awesome people!
The 3D daily section looks amazing. I want to focus more on my drawing and painting skills in 2017, hopefuly will have time to show you some work here

So your goal for 2017 could be figure drawing.
