Hey Polycount, I have not posted here in a long time but wanted to share a project I just finished. It's all modeled in max except some surface detail on rubber after I poly modeled it. (LARGE IMAGES) Feedback welcome.
I have more images and descriptions on artstation:
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/GqXKBhttps://www.artstation.com/artwork/n8eB9I tried to think about how the entire thing would function in the real world as best I could. The weapon is used by mechs and not humans so the way it interfaces may seem foreign and odd. Essentially the mech clips his fingers into the rifle on the 6 finger clips, 3 on each side. So by nature it's asymmetric. I modeled in between all the parts as well and under the particle accelerator covers.
I will post the function breakdown image in the next thing

"Garuda AntiHydrogen Rifle is a modular combat platform designed for mechanical tactical units or MECHA. Anti-Hydrogen (H-) Flows through this particle accerator, only one gram is needed to level an entire city, while capable, Microgram and under payloads are needed for practicality.
FYI, just in case you don't know already, Antimatter is represented with a top bar "¯" not a "-", that would be a negatively charged hydrogen which is totally normal. But no idea how to write the top bar in the keyboard (googled and copied it).
Thanks I'll think about doing some more renders!
Thanks man, and no I just block it out, refine, blockout, refine ect. I just modeled it like anything else, no super cool workflows just modelin:D
Thanks everyone!
I love how the front opens in two parts. It gives a really good feeling.
