hi guys,
I am just wondering what is the best way to make some terrain for a still render of a character of mine.
In the past, I learned, the best way to do this is to fake the real world scale by a perspective shift to avoid z-depth/clipping errors.
Here a screenshot from blenderguru (i was to lazy to take one by myself).
As you can see, the mountains in the back aren't that big. At least, maybe 100x100m.
Now I am changing to Maya/Redshift and I am wondering, what is here the common solution for this? Just like in Blender, faking the real size, or taking the right measurements and put the mountain far, far in the distance?
I could imagine taking the real world size could be a bit fiddly widly, because the main object - the character - is just 1,8m.

i mean for that you could also just use a mattepainting, do all of it in 2d instead of 3d
Thanks for your advice. I think this time the perspective shift solution is the easiest one.
Have a nice day!
