I suspected that but you went to the trouble of bolding it which made me think you were talking about something else.
Most of the time I just even my topology manually by adding loops where necessary and sliding them around. Most 3D applications let you space out vertices in a loop evenly which helps a lot. Just don't put a ton of redirected edge loops in your mesh and it shouldn't be too difficult.
For simpler meshes I use zremesher with adaptive size slider set to a low value.

What works for one object will very likely not work on many other meshes.
