"I'm getting too old for this sh*t" Space Ranger

Making a thread here to post my progress on my Cubebrush Art War submission. Figure I might as well get as many eyes on it as I can by posting in multiple locations.
My character is a Flash Gordon-esque Space Ranger who is getting up there in age, but still has some fight left in him.

And here's my initial sculpt. Still more to do on the head and some body proportions could use some tweaking, but will be moving on to blocking in the clothing for now. Planning on doing some cross between practical and campy for his space suit.
Any input is welcome!

I think his anatomy is a bit iffy in some spots; he looks a bit gooey and thin-ish in some areas. I really like how in the mood boards how it was this big, old, burly dude, and I think he can get a bit more chiseled. Granted, most of this will probably be covered up by the space suit, but I just wanted to send a paintover with my opinions.

I think I want my guy to be a bit thinner than the dude you pulled from the ref board, but your comments on the anatomy and the paint over are very much appreciated. Definitely stuff I can work on
