Which is better for realtime rendering cinematics: Blender or Unreal Engine 4?

I've been trying to decide which of the two programs would be better for use with real time rendering for creating animated shorts and films, Blender or Unreal Engine 4?

My goal is just to start learning how to animate, but I'm on a budget and don't have a high capacity computer for complex rendering, so I need to start off at least with something that can be rendered in real time. So far I've seen several great examples of what Unreal can do, but I wonder whether or not Blender can do the same, but with more creative control?

Edit: Had to change the title because I have a feeling anyone who looks at the original must have thought I was a total dumbass asking about using Unreal Engine 4 for filmmaking!
