Glass Material 3ds Max

I'm a poor student just trying to practice and make some pretty scenes in 3ds max, but I'm a little stumped on how to make some glass material. All the tutorials I see are using plug-ins and I can't afford those. Any way of doing so?

if you are using 3dsmax then mental ray is the way to go. there are lots of glass options available with the arch design mat
