3ds max to substance painter work flow.

Hi guys.
Recently I made a chess piece so I could learn to texture but it seems like substance painter is unable to import an obj file.
I also wanted to know what should I do after I make a high poly mesh to make it a game ready model like should I unwrap it bake maps etc.
