Recommend Monitor for Photoshop and Maya

Hi, guys!
I want to change my  19" Samsung Sync Master 971p monitor for a bigger one. I was good for me while working only in Photoshop, but since I started learning Maya I feel I need more space for all its panels
Could you recommend which monitor will be better?
Which ones do you use?
The price range is up to $1000.

   You can just spend half of your budget and get 2 decent 24" monitors. 

24" is pretty standard, some people may prefer larger, but anything bigger than 27" is just too big, your eyes will get strain, considering you sit very close to the monitor while working.

Make sure it's IPS panel, and if you do play action games then get the one with 120hz or 144hz

Other than that, just chose whatever you'd like

Thank you for your advice, Nam.Nguyen. I was hesitating about the monitor size, since my graphics tablet is M size. So I was thinking which one will be comfortable to draw and to work in Maya.
And about IPS panel, I read about the IPS-glow effect, does it bother much?
