Help！Object cannot display in MAYA 2014

I have edited ,saved and reopened the file many times, but after adding a Blinn Material, I can not see my main object! The outliner says that the object still exists. I also use other people's software to open it, or add other Material.... No effect!
What's the problem? Is there any solution? Or I should rebuilt the model?

Have you worked extensively in this file? Sometimes selecting your object and exporting it in a new maya file is an effective way to move around those kinks, especially when you can't find the immediate cause.

Try combining the object with some other object, like a cube.
