My apologies in advance if this has been answered before, or there is a blatant sticky I missed.
So recently I've been scouring the internet as Artstation/Polycount/Deviant contests are infrequent and often focus on a single property or are 3d specific. Try as I might to find concept art or digital illustration contests I cant. All my first page results are decade old websites that talk of traditional media contests and local events that you can submit digitally to.
I tried searching for 'game' related or 'entertainment' but got contests for people like game designers or VFX. If anyone can explain to me why there is such a scarcity in contests or have some resources that I missed for I'd love to hear/see it.

No real contests that i know of but generally where more 2D guru's hang out.
Otherwise you are correct they're aren't many that I've heard of anyway.
Then again i don't look for them either but there has been a drought in "contests" (worth while anyway) that seem to be worth the time/effort/commitment needed.
Best of luck.

The site is run by Marc Brunet (bluefley).
And he drops a ton of weekly free content and videos to go with his tiered monthly contests.
