Hey guys...I'm new here. The name's MilesMaster, a beginning 3D artist always eager to learn.
I'm thinking about developing a full game in the distant future (still working out a detailed timeline), as long as my skill level has caught up by then with Blender and other software. I was curious to ask, with current generation tech and software, what would be an appropriate geometry count for a character model?
Here's the details:
Plan to import to UE4
Cartoon style model with a PBR Material Shader (Think current Disney films like Wreck It Ralph and Big Hero 6)
Depending on model, will have two shaders: one for non-metal and one for metallic surfaces
Geometry count incl. clothes, hair, and accessories/weapons.
Working with current build of Blender (2.78) and Substance Painter
Using a Quadro M2000
Thank you for your time.
