Which watermark? If you refer to the last pic, the thing in the lower left corner are the axis from within UEd, proofing it's a shot from within the editor (not a special rendered pic).
I think it can be distracting, so artists who really want their brand marked into a piece somehow may create a 'stamp-like' symbol to represent them, and include it somewhere 'less' obvious, this can be both less intrusive to the scene, yet rewarding for the observer who are keenly looking at stuff and then realised it's there. for e.g. people pay respect to the polycount community by including greentooth (polycount symbol) as a sticker, or a small bobble head, rather than just including it somewhere less creatively.
A creative way of including you 'by Vollgaser' into the scene could be a smudge in the window, and someone has used their finger to write 'by vollgaser'. Or if you had the TV on, and it showed your symbol or name as if it was a show.
