@OneHotDay We use our own in house engine I guess you could say it is the ND engine. Our tools is mainly all in Maya we have a shading tool for materials creation called surfer.
Different angle added water puddles below the tracks. Minor tweaks... @Deghost The process was pretty much just masks and blending I like to start with base materials than add masks and blending to create the grunge. In this case the concrete went from grayish to have several layers of grunge overlay and multiplied on top with different roughness settings. I will make a video or several videos on the making of for this when done.
You know I was watching a "Late to the Party" on Eurogamer's youtube a few weeks back and they started with the tunnel ride and it has sadly not aged well. But this is a fantastic piece. Just goes to show...
Only crit from me is maybe move the Black Mesa logo down one joining pillar towards the viewer, if that makes sense? So you can take notice of it more.
Doing a re imagining of the hunter from half life 2 without the combine synth attachments. In the lore these were creatures that were captured by the combine and enslaved. I am imagining they took out the beak and put the weapon on and so on still messing with main forms. This is the creature form before the combine enslaved it.
Few mins doing a skin mat I was not going to post in till I was done but seeing this just raised a smile on my face and had to post lol. So nasty! It does not even have sub surface lol
Thanks everyone I guess the creep factor came also through working at night while nodding almost falling asleep while working on this. The eye I saw plenty of messed up eye ref.

Lol, nice workflow haha.
Cool that you're working a lot more on this scene, everything is getting pretty nice.
This came out great! Thanks for sharing with us. If you don't mind me asking, what baked texture resolution did you use for your tunnel asset? Mind sharing the textures? Curious about your UV layouts.
@Adelphia Thanks, I enjoy doing characters also. Wish I had more time for creature design and stuff. I would not do it professionally since honestly character art is really insanely controlled by ADs and GDs that is the main reason I think I never went that path.
@pixelpatron more to come Last thing will be a video making of.
