Deselecting vertex/edge/loop/etc with shortcut

Hi guys,
I have a problem in 3ds max 2013 and 2014.
In the modify panel I have selection tab for editable poly. I can chose with the shortcuts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 according to vertex, edge, border, polygon, element. The problem is that I can't deselect it with the same shortcuts, I just have to deselect it manual. Until installing the windows 10 everything was smooth, but after that I installed again windows 7 with the same result.
Can you have any idea what is happening?
