As a Technical Director you will be responsible for defining the vision for and ensuring outstanding quality of all technical aspects of our games, as well as ensuring that the end product meets market and client expectations. You will also be responsible for the development of the technical department, including strategic recruitment.
You are required to work across all of Tarsier’s game projects, and may rely on technical leads and/or senior programmers to manage implementation of the technical vision. You will also function as an advisor to producers, supporting their decision making in the projects.

Work with key members of the development team to establish a creative vision and direction that is in line with current market- and client demands, for all current and future Tarsier Studios products.
Establish and maintain technical direction for all Tarsier Studios products, including technology, tools, code standards and processes.
Provide the Technical Lead with any support needed to allow team to work efficiently towards the vision.
Work with Producer and Directors to define the scope and setting the overall road-map for the project.
Ensure that the development and quality of all technical work is in line with the overall creative vision for the project and that it meets Tarsier Studios and client expectations.
Establish, develop, mentor and inspire a competent and productive technical department in collaboration with the Technical Lead, mapping competence, establishing personal development plans, managing performance reviews (including follow-up) and generally enabling a healthy and positive work environment that fosters creativity and motivation.
Work to fully understand the ideas and opinions of the team in a respectful and critical manner, providing constructivefeedback and ultimately turn smaller ideas into larger concepts.
Define strategic recruitment goals for the technical team together with CEO and work together with company HR to successfully meet these goals.
Work together with the other Directors to establish and evolve overall creative vision for the studio as well as develop newconcepts, IPs and pitches for future projects.
Conduct R&D for current and future technologies, processes and practices that can be explored and implemented in Tarsier Studios projects.
5+ years experience, or at least two shipped titles/production cycles, in a Lead Programmer or Technical Director position on current generation console projects.
Proven track record of managing large teams to success, as well as building/maintaining production schedules.
Experience in developing on modern gaming consoles.
Excellent technical vision that can be channelled and adapted to any type of game, with a forward thinking and the flexibility to research and undertake any project as required.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of games, games development and games technology.
Good understanding of current market trends and client marketing needs.
Possess a strong attention to detail and follow through on tasks to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and well developed research routines.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to get others to see and understand your vision.
Working knowledge of industry standard game engines, toolsets and production pipelines.
A strong understanding of art, design and audio disciplines.
Strong technical abilities, excellent C++ and object oriented design skills.
Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English.
Ability to carry an idea from the conceptual phase to the finished product, not afraid of making a lot of tries and iterations.
