legality of work?

Hi guys. I am a newly graduate and I am doing some freelance work at the side. I just got asked to rip some models from Garry's mod for his personal project. Would this be illegal as I would charge money for the work. Which would maybe be that I charge for the models that I have not created?
I hope I make sense and would love any help.

This sounds quite illegal, and would be something to avoid (also, I'd probably avoid doing any other work for this person if I thought anything else was suspicious).
