Issue with Maya

Hi!

I recently experienced some technical difficulties with my older workstation. So I copied everything on the portable device, including my latest project. I managed to copy everything just in time before it completely burned down. Now I got a new PC and a new version of Maya 2017 (my older one was 2016). Now I can't seem to open those two files, everything else loads normally. It loads up to 98% and then freezes. Anyone had the same problem?

I've seen that happen before. Did you try importing the file instead of opening it? That can work sometimes.

Yes I did. Same result, unfortunately.

If you are able / allowed to provide a link to the file, I or someone else can try their luck at recovering the contents.

Descriptive thread titles help too.

Are the files .ma or .mb? It totally freezes or does it eventually crash? the crashlog may help.

Hi, it's .mb and it totally freezes. I'll see what I can do about sending the file to attempt recovery on the other PC.

have you tried opening on 2016 to make sure the files is not actually corrupted?
