Hi everyone,
I just started learning ZBrush. I actually have no knowledge so far about 3D modeling/sculpting and I never draw anything on paper. I am more a software engineer. I always see the cool models here in polycount and also couple of artworks on another site so I want to give it a try.
My learning path is currently like this:
1) Sculpt a head based on propotions in my mind (no picture reference)
2) Learn how to modify stuff / fix stuff easily and the way I am comfortable with
3) Work more on propotions and real references (anatomy lessons etc.)
4) Texturing/Painting ( I will look into Substance Painter or maybe Quixel Suite)
5) Go from HighPoly down to a lower res model and prep model for In game (At this step I am thinking about getting an additional software like Maya or Max, some industry standard tool)
I am currently at step 1. I must say before step 1 I already learned the program features/brushes etc for a couple of days now. I also got a pluralsight subscription so hopefully this helps through my journey.
But so far, this is where I am at now... Any critics so far what should be better ? My next step is actually to replace the markes of the eyes with actual geometry to look better.
Thanks and see you later

my intention is to use the information from my brain about how a female face looks like to get the rough shapes done quickly. So when I am feeling comfortable with that one and compare it to references that I can say: Ohh the eyes I sculpted from my "brain reference" is totally wrong so I should look further into the eye sections. What I mean is, I want to to concentrate on the stuff that I did totally wrong at the beginning instead of looking at everything again. But maybe directly starting with reference is better, I don't know. I guess I will figure it out by testing in next couple of days.
