Hey everyone,
Tonight I decided to take a step back and go over a lot of basics again just for fun. This will help me with various aspects of my models and design flow, along with learning some new tools along the way hopefully. My Goal is to at least one night a week, pick a random object and model it from start to finish within an hour (mainly to help pace myself in this practice) and render it out in either Unreal, Unity, Quixel, or Marmoset.
I will also be doing a rock study while learning how to use ZBrush during my lunch breaks (because who doesn't love a rock study?!). I've been mostly a Mudbox user and just recently acquired ZBrushCore to see if I like ZBrush over Mudbox. So far I've been loving it and wish I got the full version. But ya gotta start somewhere.
So for the first model I decided make is where most 3d students start, by making a crate. Below are the screenshots in Unreal using the Realistic Rendering scene and 2 rendered in Quixel.
