Hello everyone! This is my latest project and first post on polycount. I created an environment using unreal engine 4. Tried to mix different styles for possible future indie games. Hope you like it! i will design new levels & moods with these assets.
Such a lovely scene! The winter version lacks of contrast, as the snow's color is too similar to the sky's color I think. Anyway, great job (especially on the water shader, it looks very nice)
I absolutely love this. Great use of color and forms. Very unique. I'd love to play a game with a style like that. It's something of a mix between firewatch, No Man's Sky, and Journey.
I visually scripted (blueprinted) a simple day&night cycle for this look. i set day, dawn and night settings and animated these in UE4 with a control blueprint. Its a continuous cycle.
There is a couple of scene elements animating. Exp. Height Fog, Directional Light intensity & Color, Sky colors, Skylight intensity & color etc.
@emekozben I'll have to try to replicate something similar. I'm trying making a scene with a day and night cycle as well, hopefully it will turn out as nice as this!
Greetings @emekozben, incredible work here! I am really curious to how you have made the Landscape and Terrain! In some of your images we can see the triangles and polygons, which adds so much more to the scene. How did you achieve this effect?
I tried to combine different styles. I have started this project to iterate lowpoly art style. Not only like a style but want it to be suitable with indie games. Tried 2 or 3 version and decided this one.
My new speed level design, builded and realtime rendered in UE4. I will publish a speed level design video of this concept soon! Check out my Youtube channel for previous level designs.

Thanks @JLHGameArt Its pretty fun actually, it's a quick way to create concept environments and I'm trying to improve my world building skills and also UE4 knowledge. I'm also recording my UE4 session and publishing via youtube, but this process is too tiring and time consuming, and not fun because my notebook is getting older for recording and building at the same time. I have to go for a new PC.
@RuiShi , I edited the default sky in unreal engine, changed the sky textures with lowpoly stylized ones that I draw in PS. There are 3 layers of clouds.
@allmighty_thunder , this is only a simple scene, its hard to compare with a full game, but I got your point. About 'No Mans Sky' I can only say that in my opinion, exaggerating your game is not a good way of PR or presentation as an idie game developer.
@emekozben I watched your speed level design video - nice work and it certainly makes the Unreal Engine editor look slick and efficient
I was particularly impressed with the water actually, I wonder how you'd go about doing similar water, with dynamic foam etc in other engines. I'd love to program something similar for my mobile engine.
Quick question - is it possible to design levels in the Unreal editor and just export them as an Obj or Collada etc, or is it strictly for in engine use?
My last artwork, builded and realtime rendered in UE4. I will publish a speed level design video of this concept soon! Artstation for other screenshots and artworks check out my Youtube channel for previous level designs.
Any plans to put the rest of the environments here on UE4 marketplace in your current asset or another one? I really like the "New Skies" one that has that NMS vibe. How much of the content used in these screenshots is in the UE4 marketplace asset?
@kristofferf Hi! All of the models are in the pack right now including the trees pine and the root tree, but except the big pillars in the sky. Thanks!
After working on Unity projects for a long time, now I am back at Unreal Engine! I ve upgraded my old asset pack to UE 4.27 to check the compatibility. Everything is working great. And also I ve never posted the night version of this env, so here it is, in-game screenshot. Hope you like it!

In my opinion a standout display of color grading - management here 👍️

(it took so long because i had no plan or concept, improvized until the result worked for me)

For the polygonal look i disabled the tangent space normals and a few math operation in the landscape material. (im away from my PC but its alike with the way in the link)
