Overview

We need a rigger and animator for the main character in an upcoming indy game intended for iOS, PC and Console(s). The character is a man dog, so it expected that a stock biped rig will be the rigging starting point, and the tail will require a few custom bones. The face has a mouth that can open, with a red tongue and eyelids (for blinking) and needs to express around 7 emotions. Character has 2 LODs, so rigging will need to be transferred from high LOD (PC & Consoles) to low LOD (mobile). There are around 20 animations, some quite simple, some more involved. Animation style is somewhere in the ballpark of Little Big Planet and Smash Bros 2014 (Wii U). Videos will be provided to describe some of the animations.

Payment Schedule

Payments will be made as miles are met

  • 500$ USD when rigging is created, applied, with facial animations (morphs or bones)

  • 500$ USD provided when character animations are complete

Facial Animations (morphs and or bones, your choice).

  • Happy

  • Euphoric (eyes closed, tongue out, smiling)

  • Fear

  • Excited (open mouth, tongue out)

  • Blink both eyes

  • Cheeks pushed in (see idle main menu below)

  • Cheeks stretched out (see idle main menu below)


Some animations will be blended in real time inside the game engine. Animations that specify parts of the body need only apply to those parts.

  • Idle on main menu (character poking own face, deforming cheek, then pulling on it (tongue out entire time)

  • Idle (1s)

  • Idle scratch head (1s)

  • Walk (1s)

  • Run (1s)

  • Head “No gesture” (0.5s)

  • Head “Yes gesture” (0.5s)

  • Point upwards with right arm(upper body only) (video) (0.5s)

  • “Cha-Ching” upper body gesture with right arm (video) (0.5s)

  • Left arm palm gestures down (video) (0.5s)

  • Falling to death (as in falling in a bottomless pit, not falling down) (video) (3s)

  • Victory - perfect level completion (dance to be described in video) (3s)

  • Victory - average level completion (panting, hands on knees, video) (3s)

  • Victory  - Barely completed level, character falls flat face to floor, head to side to floor with tongue out, (3s)


Required sign contract before work will commence (key items)

  • This is work for hire (or “buyout”)

  • Don’t distribute any files provided to you, or created by you to anyone besides Crisp Cube Entertainment Inc.

  • Acceptable terms for portfolio use. You can use videos and images, provided our copyright notice is in place, you cannot distribute any 3D models, or files.


Deliverables

  • Final functioning rig for both LODs

  • Final character animations


The ideal candidate has portfolio with experience in rigging and animation. Communication in english via Skype is a must, collaboration through revisions is critical to achieving satisfactory results. Time allotted is 30 days.
