Learning the pipeline for character art - WIP

Hello everyone,

I am new to polycount and also fairly new to 3d character art. I am currently working on my second character personal project. The character is to make a current gen version of Prince of Persia. It's still very early in its stages but I would love to progress with this project with the help and critique of fellow 3D artists.

I would love to do this character in a hyper-realistic style. I would also like to make 2 versions of this model, one being high poly and for beauty shots, and the other a game ready model too.

I would really appreciate any guidance and critique in any aspect of my model and I shall be updating this thread as I progress through the project.

I do have some questions that if anyone could answer I would be very grateful;

- In terms of skin detail is it better to sculpt them in or do them in the texturing process?
- Is there a place where I can obtain brushes for skin detail? (I have found some in ZBrush library but there's not too much variety in there.)
-What's the best pipeline to do realistic hair? I would like to do fibres for the hair but I can also work with planes.

Thank you for your time! :)
