Aliased/noisy zDepth layer

Okay guys i'm working on a cinematic project at my Uni. We have rendered all the shots in v-ray and a former teammate set this all up.
I'm currently doing the compositing and I discovered the zDepth passes aren't setup very well so I want to re-render only that pass in a few of the shots. Now I just gave all the geometry a vray Light Mtl to speed up the rendering (because who cares about materials with zDepth right?) and turned of all the render elements except the zDepth. Now this renders super fast. Only a few seconds per frame, but I'm getting extremely aliased/noisy renders around the edges.

It seems to have something to do with motionblur we rendered in vray. In the original zDepth you can kinda see the motionblur. Although I haven't turned this off, it seems turning of the render elements is turning of the motionblur as well. Turning all the render elements back on but still with the simple vray Light Mtl applied to all objects smooths out the zDepth pass again. http://i.imgur.com/Rb2puSu.png

Now my first question is, is this aliasing a problem for the zDepth pass? Would it affect my compositing, like depthblur and dof switching. If not I won't bother with it and just render them all like this. I can do it for all the shots in one day.
Second is, do you want motion blur in your zDepth or should it be avoided? And how should I turn this off in zDepth only.
I don't know much about v-ray unfortunately so most of what is going in the scene in terms of rendering settings I don't know about. I have access to all shots though so I can go into the files.

Thnx in advance!
