Hello. I have a highly specific question I can't figure out so let's hope someone can answer it:

I have a model of a staircase in need of a Level of Detail mesh. The steps on the staircase are overlapped in order to get more detail out of the material. Basically there are 20 steps total and they are overlapped in 4 different areas.

Now what I would like to do is to convert all of the steps into one big quad, a ramp basically. However as far as I know there is no way to project the different parts of the material for the individual steps onto this quad in different places.

Is there any way I could do this without splitting the quad up (effectively removing the benefits of a LOD to begin with)?

My other less elegant solution would be to give it another texture intead.
