Beginners guide to groom in Maya (tutorial)

Hey guys!
Spent a little time recentlywriting another little tutorial, this time covering the basics of grooming with maya standard hair toolset 
It covers a few different methods I tend to use and has a few little sections for the fundamentals but if there are any topics it does not cover enough lemme know and I can get to writing some more

thank you for this wonderful tutorial for grooming. I myself have been delving into xgen hair, I really dig the tube to curves workflow! I'm about to give it a shot
My workflow has been sculpting the basic form of the hair, painting guides, then snapping to scalp. The tubes seem to give like you said, good previs.

I used to use that workflow too hence why I mentioned it in the painting curves section but as soon as I tired the tube workflow I knew that would be my new permanent workflow
