I am currently trying to improve as much as possible, so any crit would be amazing.

At the moment the plan is to make 3 prop/environment pieces.
Then revisit each piece at the end to improve them. This will hopefully include one main
large environment and two smaller pieces.

I know I still have a lot to learn so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Really solid texture work, Well done. But I do question the 4k textures and the triangle count. Maybe a bit too high even though most engines these days can handle high polycount it's still best to take advantage of the normal map than what your doing now.

Definitely going in the right direction. Maybe next time post images, something a game artist said was showreels are only necessary if you have actual animations.

    Hope this helps!

Ill definitely look at getting the tricount down. I think the wheels and lights are poly heavy in-particular at the moment.

Ill also make sure to post some stills next time. Makes it much faster for people viewing, so I will definitely keep that in mind.

    Cheers for commenting :)

Hey, Just a little update with what I've been working on :)

This is my first attempt at foliage so I know there is quite a lot to improve. Any advice or tutorials from anyone for getting better results would be great :).

Things I want to fix from crit so far:
    • Improve Bark texture
    • Make clovers smaller and reduce polycount
    • Add wind to foliage
    • Cover up the bottom of the trees with plants

Also added in a short clip from a project last year. Need to make the description clearer but was responsible for everything except base models for the stairs, the statue was by Lee Duncan. For both projects I used substance with dirt texture coming from substance share. Trees made with SpeedTree.

Great stuff, Jade. However if you include the forest in a video, you simply gotta animate the foliage! (IMHO) :)

Yeah I definitely agree! It doesn't look alive without it. I kept getting weird artifacting when I brought the plants from speedtree. I need to work out why. Maybe the global wind setting? If I don't manage to work it out will post a picture here and maybe someone  can point me in the right direction. :)

Also want to add a light ray and some little particles to really help it.

Another quick update of the final scene I want to add. The pier and ground need a bit more love. I also want to add a bit more narrative to the scene so If anyone has any ideas let me know.

So thought I should really give this a bit of an update. The work is a little old as it was mostly finished before January. I tried to take in account the advice from before. If anyone has any advice to push it further that would be great!
