Hey guys after suffering from massive burnout and depression I have decided to get back rolling. I usually use toolbag to render my stuff but this time around I want to have it in an actual engine. So far I have ripped out most of my hair but I am starting to understand it slowly.
Here is my mood board

Initial Blockout

At this time UE4 became corrupted and I had to re build my scene. (I now have a backup haha)

I prefer one of the first lighting pass you show in this screenie with this kind of skybox, keep up !
Here is today's work, I added in some small vegetation, messed with the lighting a little and did the railroad tracks.
KurtR: Thanks for the advice, I actually have been thinking more and more about story elements and where I can go. With the train now in the scene I think I have a good start. I have been thinking about adding in some blood drips on the building later on that say "Help Me." Maybe have the camera zoom into it. I'm trying to get to detailed like that until polish stage though.
Macoll: I keep going back and forth between afternoon lighting and evening..I cant decide!!! I will play around with evening lighting again and see how it pops
but right now you need to take a step back. Look at your concepts and notice that they all have a clear sense of direction and perspective. They have something interesting going on an all levels, foreground, middle and background.
So stop a little bit, read up on your composition skills.

Check out the composition section (4). It's always good to have these in mind. Also don't use vegetation like grass to cover up the fact you don't have much going on right now in your scene. Less is more is def a thing right now, you could focus on making sure your ground-textures are awesome and the grass should compliment it.
Good luck dude and keep working hard!
As for the story side:
Idea 1: Just trying to show how beautiful nature can be, how fast it can reclaim what was once ours. Not saying that this is a zombie world but defiantly something has taken a toll on mankind. Thats why I put " I Am In Hell" on the side of the train. I am considering taking it off and putting "God is Dead" in its replacement.
Idea 2: I am also considering only having the graffiti on the train and putting "They never came" written in blood or maybe carved in on the walls on the front of the building. I feel this has better storytelling and having some suitcases and backpacks laying there. As if they were waiting for the train when the "outbreak" happened. Maybe have a little kids stuffed animal hanging on the tree root.

Excellent environment masterpiece by guys from silverTM)
I agree with wirrexx 's comment about the scene depth, good point to me...perhaps put a DOF in the scene ?
