Hello Polycount ! It's my first post here, what do you think about my latest piece ? Model in Max, texture and render in Substance Painter. I pratice to become a Props/Environment artist in the future. Would love C&C . Thanks ! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PnB88
Hey, thopen! Welcome to Polycount The model looks really good. For a portfolio piece (i saw you posted it on Artstation) i would recommend you to render a wireframe of the mesh as well. I believe you used Marmoset Toolbag to render? Showing wireframes is really easy there. That aside the texture could use some more definition. For instance, I can't really tell what component is used on the handle, it currenly looks like marble (mainly because of its gloss values). Did you use a real world reference or a concept to model it? The metal of the blade and the oposite ring also could use more details. You can still use that base black metal (hohoho) material, but as a base for other ones, like scratches, blood, decals etc. This will bring interest and identity to your model. Hope it helps. Good luck!
Thanks Macebo for your income ! I used Iray (in Substance Painter) for render. I think I rushed the texturing part, i see it definitely need more details know ;(
